Work Ordered Day

The Point After Club work ordered day is designed to engage members and staff, together, side by side in the running of the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse focuses on strengths, talents and abilities of it's members and is intended to help members regain self worth, purpose and confidence.

The club has 3 Work Units to take care of the business of the Club, and develop opportunities for members in Work, Housing, Education, and Social activities.

The Units are where the partnership between members and staff begins, as members are given an opportunity to participate in meaningful work, and develop meaningful relationships with their fellow members and staff in their Unit.

Units

Campbell Center - Responsible for the cleaning of all common areas, maintenance of the Club's 3 vans, and overseeing the Club's successful Thrift Shop.

First Floor - Responsible for all Club clerical duties, Administration, Education, Employment, and Housing.

Food Service - Responsible for all of the Club's meal programs, Pac Cafe and general upkeep of the kitchen and dining room areas.

As part of their participation members are expected to choose a primary unit from amongst the Club's 3 Units. This choice is based on where the member is most comfortable working in the Club.

Once a primary unit is chosen, members are expected to choose an advocate from the Club staff in their Unit. The advocate will be available to monitor their participation, identify club opportunities, and be a support person in times of need.
